I really enjoyed working with Heather. I felt she calmly redirected and kept me on track when I wanted to spiral in all directions. She helped me set realistic goals and set me up for success in achieving them. She was level headed and focused on my personal journey. I enjoyed her focus on mindfulness and her genuine approach to my well being.

I would recommend Heather to anyone who feels ready to make changes in their life. She is an amazing support and guide!

There are endless reasons why I enjoyed working with Annie, but the main one being that she is such a great listener and she never casts judgement. Annie always encouraged me to dig deeper even if I already thought I was doing so. I didn’t even know that was possible until she gave me a little push. I felt comfortable enough to express my feelings and vulnerabilities knowing that Annie had created a safe place for me to do so.

Katharine did a fantastic job holding me accountable to myself. Her session notes were very detailed and insightful. Her style is full of kindness and compassion.  Which encouraged me to be kind and compassionate to myself.  While I still have a way to go, I carry her words along with me on my journey to creating balance and self-care in my life. Her dedication to two-way communication allowed me to manage my thoughts and goals with ease.

When I met Heather I was struggling with a few things. I had a lot of anxiety, bad eating habits,  horrible sleep patterns and basically no productive routines. Heather helped me start a new schedule, taught me some breathing and mindfulness techniques and, most importantly, held me accountable.

She was a pleasure to talk to. She was always supportive but firm when she needed to be. She listened to my needs and put effort into helping me make the changes I needed.

She always found small victories in the things that I felt I was failing at and was always a positive influence on my success.

I would absolutely recommend her for anyone looking for support and coaching with their day to day life.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience working with Erin Berman as a Nurse Coach. Before starting my work with Erin, I had a lot of stress and anxiety that I was not handling well. While I still have a lot of stress, my experience with Erin has helped me develop coping skills to address my stressors, and as a result, there has been a significant improvement with my anxiety. I have learned that I cannot change outside stressors, but I can change my perspective of them and change the way I address them. This insight has been very significant for me. It allows me to feel less anxious and overwhelmed and more in control over my circumstances.

There have been several coping skills that Erin helped me develop. First, we worked on setting small, realistic goals and following through with them. This not only helps me address issues one step at a time so I don't feel overwhelmed, but it also helps me let go of a self-defeating "all or nothing" approach. It's ok to take baby steps toward a larger goal, it's ok to have setbacks, and it's very important for my progress to acknowledge these small gains and feel proud of them.

Another important coping skill Erin helped me with is changing what I focus on and focusing more on the positive. Before our coaching, I had a tendency to focus on everything that was wrong and everything that I needed to do, and everything I was failing to do. This put me in a constant negative, anxious mindset that was self-defeating. Acknowledging my progress, giving myself credit for accomplishments no matter how small, and focusing on what I am grateful for, helps shift my perspective from one of worry and defeat to one of gratitude and confidence.

Finally, Erin helped me work on a physical way to decompress and reset. It involved breathing exercises we worked on during our sessions, that I did before falling asleep at night, and that I did when I started to feel stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. This controlled breathing allowed me to take a pause, lower my heart rate, lower my blood pressure, and calm down. I really appreciated having a way to address my physical needs incorporated into my coaching plan. Psychological counseling and life skills coaching are important, but the nurse coaching approach of acknowledging the mind-body connection and addressing both stood out to me as unique to nurse coaching and tremendously helpful. I would recommend Erin's coaching to anyone who needs a more holistic approach to the coaching experience."

My name is Amy H.  I was asked to take part in coaching sessions with Heather earlier this year.  I was excited to accept as I was curious how this service would stack up to traditional counseling vs. coaching.

My life fits the bill for the “sandwich” generation. My elderly parents live in a suite in our home and my husband and I have a 13 year old son. Building on that, my 83 year old mother is barreling down the road of dementia, my 85 year old father is weary from the day to day trauma of his wife, and our son has ADHD combined and ODD.

Adding COVID to the above mix, my peri menopause and in home business, made me the perfect candidate to receive Holistic Nurse Coaching.

Finding a great fit for counseling vs. coaching can sometimes be difficult. We have found the perfect counselor for our son, whom we use also. That counseling is catered toward our son and our needs surrounding him, so to be able to have a wider range of assistance with coaching has been really helpful.

I felt that Heather was a great fit for me on a personal level, as well as on a professional level. Her calmness and listening allowed me to feel heard on deep levels.  There was not anything that was rushed over, in fact quite the opposite. She would ask questions to understand my statements or dilemmas, then assess where to go from there.

An example of that would be where Heather would suggest inserting some mindfulness exercise before proceeding so I could absorb our sessions. Her methodical ways proved to be successful in that I was able to be in the moment during our sessions no matter what was happening in my life at the moment.

I was able to leave the session with a clear path of what to accomplish in the next week or two and how to accomplish it. I loved the rounded out approach of this methodology.

Having your mental health, emotional health as well as physical health checked on simultaneously is gold. It really is a piece that is missing today in society.  We may get it from different sources, however having one source take care of these needs helps to make sure that nothing falls through the cracks, and the picture is more in focus.

The fact that Heather cares and is deeply invested oozes from her pores. This, I believe, along with her professionalism and years of practiced knowledge, will allow Heather to be very successful as a Holistic Nurse Coach.

I would recommend Heather to anyone and I personally see the value moving forward with her in this capacity.

Warm Regards,

Before my first session, I felt like my life was disorganized and I had no plan on how to deal with things or prioritize them.  I was definitely overwhelmed and needed a plan. I can now say I add myself to the equation of life and am more self-aware of my needs, wants,

actions, and thoughts and my need to refuel to be able to be good for myself and everyone else.

Jennifer has been invaluable in my search to become a more self-aware stronger woman.  She has a special way of knowing when to invoke various tools and how to bring out a clear vision of my purpose, wants, and needs that is truly hard to pinpoint on my own.

Throughout this process I have gained new insight on how I acquire and integrate the coaching skills we discussed.  I believe this was from working and reviewing my pre-existing ways of dealing with things, how I started to incorporate new tools while continuing to work with you and how I utilize the arsenal of life tools you provided.

I would highly recommend Jenn and her services to my professional caregiver friends because you are in a unique position of being a nurse and nurse coach and you have the ability to help them help themselves and see the benefits of it firsthand.

Working with Annie was very comfortable. She is a great listener. I gained insight as to how we handle stress and the impact it has on our bodies. Annie also helped me to learn to stop and think how I want to respond to things that don’t serve me as well as to stop and redirect myself in a positive direction. I now take the time to breathe when things stress me out and ask myself if this is worth my time or not. I learned how I can help myself and Annie gave me techniques to move or push myself out of unhealthy habits.

Working with Heather was a very eye opening experience for me.  We were able to dive deep into some personal trauma and come up with some coping strategies that really helped with everyday struggles.

I’m a single mom of a special needs child.  I’m divorced from an abusive relationship that was for 25 years.  My older two children are no longer in the home, but, of course as mom I worry about them.  My daughter has borderline personality and is a mom to my three grandchildren. One has earned her wings last August at 7 weeks.  I have been trying hard to be a good mom to my children.  Pick myself up and start over and get three businesses going.  It’s a lot of stress.  And Heather was successful in being a caring, understanding and professional to listen and give helpful advice on how to find relief in daily life.

My time spent with her on the phone was very relaxing and I felt very comfortable sharing with her. I never felt judged for what I was sharing.  She is a natural at caring and letting you know she cares. Since our sessions, I continue to find the time for self care and continue to use the strategies she suggested.

Earlier  this year, Heather approached me because she was furthering her education in her nursing career. She had asked me if I would mind being one of her trial clients and to try to come up with a goal for us to work towards in the sessions. The only goal I could really see I wanted to focus on at that time was weight loss. My physical health is just fine overall, and I was maintaining my stress levels and mental health just fine… So I thought.

Shortly after agreeing to this, I ended up in the emergency room with severe breathing issues. After three days they still could not determine what was wrong and sent me home with nitro spray and Ativan.

Heather and I had our first session shortly after getting out of the emergency room. It did not take long for Heather to determine that my primary goal needed to be my mental health. Obviously, I was a walking time bomb in desperate need of learning how to de-stress, prioritize, and meditate.

Heather is a natural born caretaker . She was able to truly listen, give encouragement when needed and coach me in more holistic ways of living. She was even able to teach me a method of meditation that I’ve found myself using on a daily basis.

I started my coaching sessions with Carrie during the middle of many different life transitions at a time when I was looking to prioritize myself and take a deep, holistic look at what health meant for me.

Carrie is an excellent listener with a deep well of compassion, empathy, and insight. She helped me define goals for myself, then followed up on those goals to ensure I stayed on track and made progress. She kept me accountable, but at the same time she was patient and understanding, allowing me to set the pace and content of the coaching sessions in a way that best suited me.

As a result of working with Carrie, I’m more in tune with myself, have a clearer picture of what health means for me, and have made progress towards achieving my goals. I look forward to our sessions and always know she will show up for me, offer wisdom and insight, and help me become the best version of myself. One of my deepest goals is to one day serve others at the same level as Carrie serves her clients.

I am forever grateful to have met Heather - what an incredible coach! Heather is passionate about helping others set themselves up for success. Tell her what you want, and she’ll help you get it! When I first began working with her, she helped me sort through a mess of priorities.

We determined together what was most important for me to accomplish first, and then how to systematically tackle the mountain of tasks in front of me. Then, she held me accountable. Heather was not afraid to call me out when I deviated from our co-created plan! She was able to do this, though, in a firm yet non-judgmental way.

Heather is truly inspiring! The way in which she lives her own life makes her exceedingly credible. She helped me see clearly my end goals and figure out a way to get there. My life at the time became less daunting, and I felt as if I could handle everything coming up against me. She is a master planner and extremely strategic. I benefited so much from her perspective, encouragement, and support.

I also appreciated the laid-back style in which she coached me — she knew I needed that. Had I needed something else, I am confident she would have accommodated me. Heather is adaptable. She sees the needs of her clients and becomes what she needs to be to meet that need. I would highly recommend Heather to anyone — because she is truly capable of anything! Heather will help you conquer your mountains!

Let me start with a profound thank you to Alyssa! My coaching sessions far exceeded my expectations.

Alyssa’s coaching made me aware of how damaging it can be to work in a hostile work environment. What I was accepting to be a normal way of life was compromising me physically and emotionally.

Alyssa’s analysis of the enormous amount of information I shared with her was precisely shared with me. The nurturing manner she conveyed recommendations was extremely helpful. At no time did I feel embarrassed or ashamed!

I am living a healthier life today practicing the exercises from my coaching sessions with Alyssa. These exercises have given me tools to maintain a healthier lifestyle. I feel emboldened to live a healthier life. I will gladly recommend Alyssa Slavin’s nurse coaching to anyone who is searching for a healthier life.
